What is Chiropractic Biophysics?

Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP) is an advancement of the traditional Chiropractic method, focused upon evidence based methodologies. It follows a scientific approach and proven techniques that helps to restore the spine to better alignment & function, while helping to alleviate pain and discomfort from its source.

There currently are over 200 peer reviewed research on CBP analysis, technique and patient outcomes.

A Functional change

Traditional chiropractic care can do wonders for a wide variety of conditions, but often patients will wonder why their symptoms return after having various forms of treatment over many years – this is especially the case for sportspeople and those working in physically demanding jobs.

This is usually because although the patient feels better after chiropractic adjustment has corrected their issue, nothing in their bodies underlying structure and function has changed. They have the same old posture and they sit and move the same way every day, so the damaged or weakened areas of the body have the same stresses being placed upon them and never fully heal – the same problems therefore re-develop over time.

Injury Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation or rehab for short, is the action of restoring someone to health or normal life, this is usually through training and therapy. Rehab is used for recovery from an injury and for the management of long-term conditions. Depending on the severity of the injury rehabilitation can range from 4weeks to 1 year.

Rehabilitation should start as soon as possible to speed recovery. The programs are combined with many different components which include;

  • Massage therapy
  • Joint Mobilisations
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Strengthening exercise
  • Taping
  • Proprioception exercise

Customer Testimonial

Before coming to Chelmsford sports therapy, lower back pain was having a major impact on my ability to enjoy exercise as well as take part in outdoor activities. After just a few sessions of sports massage and chiropractic biophysics treatment I am able to participate almost pain free again, and can see real improvements already.
